Chapter Sixteen

Jenny made it out of the castle and was flying through the air, still at her normal size of just a few inches tall when her phone rang. She picked it up and answered it. “Hey,” she said. “You actually found him, so much for being dead,” she replied. “Alright, I'll meet you there in a few minutes,” she replied and hung up the phone. There was no point in talking too much on the phone, there was no telling who might be listening in these days.

Cornell and Zozo were on the top of the Tsuba building, waiting. “So, you're still seeing the Pixie?” Zozo asked. “Yeah. If you try to hurt her I'll kill you, again,” he replied. “Oh, you're still sore about all that. It's all boring now. I'd need to find new ways to try and break you,” Zozo said and Cornell didn't like where this conversation was heading.

“Tell me about the temple,” Cornell said and Zozo looked into the sky, towards the west. “It's outside the wall. Pretty far too. Only idiots, desperate people and, well, me, go that far. Then it occurred to Cornell that the promise that he made was going to set the whole world on fire. Now he was regretting all of this.

“Oh, good. An ultimate power tome of destruction in the hands of a crazy person, just what we all need,” Cornell replied and Zozo laughed. “Insane, me. I doubt it. No crazier than you playing hero with an ancient artifact you found on a case,” Zozo replied. Cornell was about to reply when Jenny flew down in a mote of light behind Cornell and expanded to her human sized form.

“Professor,” Jenny said and nodded. “I haven't been called that in a long time. So good of you to remember,” Zozo replied and she narrowed her eyes. “Okay, so how are we getting to where we need to go?” Jenny asked them, realizing now that they had no plan at all.

“Two Mystic Force detectives and one misunderstood professor, we make a great group. Maybe we should try not attracting too much attention?” Zozo asked and Cornell agreed with him on that point. “We could just fly over the walls,” Jenny suggested. “We could, but your buddies would see us,” Zozo said and Cornell shook his head. “We can travel through the shadow realm, but if we are going do it, I'd rather
